1: Stitched up: Being lied to or mistreated, being told something by someone and they do the opposite of what they told you.

  * e.g.,  ... Person A: I got Stitched up by my friends 

 [ "stitch up" ]

1: A set up, a trick. If someone stitches you up, then they're playing you for a fool. It's often used when framing someone for a crime.

  * e.g.,  ... "I don't believe it, Dave! I was at home all night, I swear! I'm being stitched up!" 

 [ "stitch up" ]

1: To utterly drop one of your mates into a situation they can't handle without great embarassment and personal liability. (by telling the truth or just blatantly lying)

  * e.g.,  ... Steve Totally stitched me up by shouting out I was molesting him on the train.

1:  To bring about and leave someone in a position that they find difficult, or impossible, to extricate themselves from.

  * e.g.,  ...  Not removing Sadam Hussein from Iraq the first time stitched up the people who rebelled against him hoping to be supported by the "Allies".

2:  To repair something through the use of a needle and thread.

  * e.g.,  ...  After I got hit by a brick, the nurse stitched up the wound.

1: An Australian term for when someone just barely salvages an otherwise bad situation

  * e.g.,  ... Jake "My card wouldn't process when i was paying for a $20 already made Subway meal and the bloke behind the counter was getting real pissed but then Derick paid for it" Jeff "What a fucking Stitch Up"

1: To perform a 'Manners'. To pass on a task or job onto somebody that already has too much work or stress without the request job to be passed on. The job is passed on without consent hense the 'stitch up'

  * e.g.,  ... To Stitch Up is to ot turn up to work when something needs to be done that day, having not told anyone about certain jobs that need to be done so it gets picked up by someone else who has no choice.

1: To skilfully and surgically pass a large amount of work onto someone who hasn't requested the work or the responsibility. The stitch up is usually between friends or colleagues who take great enjoyment at drowning each other in responsibility and project deliverables.

  * e.g.,  ... Nick had one goal, and that was to make sure he didn't end up with any tasks to manage. He needed to stitch up someone fast. Luckily for Nick, Matt was unprepared for the verbal tirade of professional compliments in the opening minutes of the meeting that made him a certainty to take the lead and workload.
